		<description>Chris,
I have been on a number of boards, and have left them in various ways. While I assume that my participation will last to the end of a term, it hasn&#039;t always worked that way. As I have chaired boards, I opperate with the assumption that board members are more than likely not going to complete their terms. Life moves and shifts and I don&#039;t want to stand in anyone&#039;s way. By chairing with a sense of support for the board members, I have found that there is an environment that fosters good closure, as you have named it above. Board members also need to not remain on a board longer than their investment or interest, or at least not become resentful because they stayed past their interest/investment, and others have left. Make your board investment about your own investment and commitment ethic.

Thanks, Chris.
